THE ROMANIAN NATIONAL AUTHORITY FOR QUALITY MANAGEMENT IN HEALTH ROMANIA

The Romanian National Authority for Quality Management in Health - (ANMCS in Romanian) is a public governmental institution with its own legal personality, whose objective is to guarantee and improve the quality of health services and patient safety, by standardizing and evaluating health services, as well as by accrediting public and private health establishments. Enrolment in the accreditation process is voluntary and accreditation is granted for a single 5-year cycle, afterwards the health facility must be re-accredited.

ANMCS is financed mainly by its own revenues and occasionally by subsidies from the state budget, being founded by the Government Decision no. 629/2015 based on the development of the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals’ (CoNAS in Romanian) activity.
