UniWA is a dynamic and constantly evolving institution that strives to fulfill its vision and mission, and to achieve its goals investing in the development of modern teaching methods, adapted to students’ needs linking academia to the competitive labor market and society requirements.

UniWA was founded in 2018 from the Technological Educational Institute of Athens and Piraeus University of Applied Sciences. In 2019, the National School of Public Health joined UniWA. Τoday it employs 608 faculty, 345 administrative and 138 special laboratory teaching and technical staff members, to accomplish its high-standard teaching, research and administrative goals.

With Six Schools with twenty-seven departments, in its  three Campuses, it  offers contemporary Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral study programs, to 57,800 undergraduate, 5,500 postgraduate and 780 doctoral students, offering to the  graduates the opportunity to acquire specialized scientific knowledge, skills and competences. Also, lifelong learning programs are provided.

Strategic directions: Educational Excellence, Research Development, Digital Transformation, Improvement of Academic Environment, Accountability and Transparency, Extroversion – Internationalization, Sustainability and Sustainable management of Resources, Quality Assurance. Efficiency indexes are set and their evaluation under the effective and strategic administration, will lead to the completion of the University’s mission.

Quality Policy: UniWA has developed and establish procedures of quality assurance policy as a part of its Strategic Planning. In the Quality Policy statement the rules of Internal Quality Management System boosting the development and the recognition nationally, in Europe and globally in the academic area, are mentioned.

Undergraduate programs, related to SANTE+, are: Public Health Policies, public & community health, administration of health and welfare units. Master programs: Public Health, Community Nursing and Public Health Nursing and  leadership, Innovation and values based health policies.

Finally, a staff member is appointed in the governing body of ODIPY S.A. (Agency for Quality Assurance in Health).
